First contact with Lovecraft?

How did you first come in contact with H.P Lovecraft?

The first time i encounterd Lovecraft was when i played a Cthulhu mod for Half-life 1. I later read a collection of Lovecraft stories in English (not my native tounge), and after i read "The colour out of space" i was hooked

For me it started with the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game back in the early 90's. But I still didn't read anything Lovecraft until the last two years, and that was mostly because I watched the B/W Call of Cthulhu silent movie that was put out a few years back.

I got started when I was a teenager, I was reading more mainstream horror back then and heard a lot of authors citing Lovecraft as an inspiration. I think Shadow over Innsmouth was the first one to really get me hooked.

Been aware of Cthulhu Mythos for some time but only really got into it a few years back when the re-release of the Arkham Horror boardgame. I picked up some of the collected works before the game and now play in a weekly Skype RPG called Heroic Cthulhu.

I have been a roleplayer for a while now, and i use to go to roleplayers events. In one of them, several years ago, a friend of mine insisted and signed me up to play Call of Cthulhu. I got caught by the background and the experience i had playing it, so eventually i bought the rules book and became master for my friends. Then i started actually reading Lovecraft's books and i like them so far.

Honestly I dont exactly remember when I first got hooked.The only thing I do remember is a reference to cthulhu on youtube from RandomDCE.The odd thing though is that I felt like I known lovecraft even before that.Its really hard to explain.I either forgot where I first heard it or just somehow knew the mythos sub-consciously...I have no idea how that works but Im just gonna say I OFFICIALLY got hooked when I heard about the game Call of Cthulhu:Dark corners of the Earth.That and calls for cthulhu, parody of cthulhu on youtube.

Honestly speaking, I really don't remember. I recall printing out Dunwich Horror and Call of Cthulhu from WikiSource before buying a collection of his stories from Ballantine.
